“Jazz Alive” is a non profit educational organization dedicated to the promotion and advancement of the uniquely American art form of jazz and of its practitioners. Our mission is to bring greater appreciation and understanding of the jazz arts from bop to the present day We seek to broaden the understanding of the jazz arts by:
1) Forming a partnership between musician and audience
2) Fostering and encouraging a greater appreciation of the jazz experience
3) Preserving and expanding the rich heritage of jazz
4) Providing opportunities and venues for the performance of repertory, contemporary
and experimental forms of the jazz idiom
5) Entertaining and enlightening audiences
6) Establishing “Jazz Alive” as a valuable educational resource tool for the community
7) Nurturing the growth and traditions of jazz music as a multicultural contribution
to the richness of the American experience
