DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Jazz Appreciation Month at the Public Library of
  Cincinnati and Hamilton County! Catch a free jazz concert at the Main
  Library each Saturday in April, and then browse a collection of jazz 
 related books, recordings, play-a-longs and other materials on display
  in the Popular Library Reading Lounge at the Main Library.\n\nThe Jaz
 z Appreciation Month concerts are made possible by a generous donation
  from internationally known saxophonist and authority on jazz educatio
 n Jamey Aebersold. Mr. Aebersold, who also underwrites the Library’s
  Jazz of the Month Club, is one of the most significant innovators in 
 jazz education. A strong believer in the role of improvisation in educ
 ation, he has been a driving force in America’s native art form and 
 continues to kindle the fires of musical imagination in those with who
 m he comes in contact.\n\nThe Public Library owns an extensive collect
 ion of Jamey Aebersold Play-A-Longs, which gives people the opportunit
 y to practice their playing with accompaniment by some of the world's

 nActively involved in the Tri-state arts scene for over fifteen years,
  the Garin Webb Trio consists of saxophone, guitar, and acoustic bass.
 \n\nSaturday, April 10 · Popular Library Reading Lounge\nMarc Fields 
 Trio\nAfter touring with Ray Charles, Marc Fields returned home to Cin
 cinnati in 1994, where he took a position as adjunct professor of jazz
  trombone and combos at his alma mater, the University of Cincinnati C
 ollege-Conservatory of Music. He challenges his students to understand
  the great qualities of the trombone. He lives in Madisonville.\n\nApr

  Rick VanMatre Quintet\nThis Jazz of the Month Club Concert features s
 axophonist Rick VanMatre, Director of Jazz Studies at UC’s College-C

 azz repertoire as well as his own compositions. VanMatre has presented
  concerts internationally, and local audiences know him as the produce
